About Blether

Built so therapists can focus on their clients.

Independent, UK-based, and shaped entirely by conversations with the practitioners who use Blether every day.

Why we built it

The quality of care a therapist gives is shaped by how present they can be in the room.

That's harder when the evening before was spent writing notes, and the morning of started with an unpaid invoice chase. In conversations with independent practitioners, we kept hearing the same thing: evenings lost to admin, weekends interrupted by billing, first sessions starting without the full picture. Not because therapists were disorganised. Because the tools available weren't built for them.

Admin has a cost beyond inconvenience. A therapist going into a session tired from the night before, or distracted by an unresolved payment, is a therapist who has less of themselves available to the client in the room.

Our story

So we built the thing the market was missing.

What became clear in those early conversations was that there was no tool genuinely designed around the individual practitioner. The category existed. But it had been built for bigger teams, or adapted from general purpose software that didn't understand the nuance of therapeutic work: the ongoing nature of client relationships, clinical record obligations, the particular awkwardness of chasing payment from someone you're also supporting.

So we built something for that gap. The brief was simple: handle the admin that shouldn't require a therapist's attention, and get out of the way. If a therapist's evenings are their own again, something real has been achieved.

Right now we're focused on sole practitioners and small practices. But the same principle applies wherever therapists are working. And that's the direction we're heading.

How we work

Independent, UK-native, and in it for the long run.

We answer to the therapists who use Blether. Not to investors. We're building a company we'd want to work at, and a product we'd want to use.

Craft

Building a product we'd want to use

We set out to build something we'd want in our own practice. This focus, genuine usefulness over feature count, shapes every decision we make. If it doesn't make a therapist's day meaningfully better, it doesn't ship.

UK-native

Designed for the UK therapy context from day one

ICO-registered. Data in UK data centres. Note templates aligned to BACP and SOAP best practices. Built around the reality of UK private practice, not bolted on as an afterthought.

People first

Building a company we'd want to work at

We think good software comes from people who are given the space to do their best work. That means a small team with real ownership, sensible ways of working, and a long-term view for the people who build Blether and the people who use it.

Get in touch

Questions, feedback, or a feature you'd like to see. We read every message and reply to most of them. If something isn't working the way it should, we want to know.
